The Miami River District encompasses residential communities and marine industrial operations known locally as the “Working River”. Some may say it starts near Douglas Road where you will find Casino Miami and Jai Alai. Followed by marine operators like Betty K and Antillean. As you move East, you will find communities like Curtis Park, Durham Park and Sewell Park. Popular destinations like Hurricane Cove Marina and River Landings can be found in the Middle River. As you cruise further East you will find Spring Garden Historic District as well as newly formed foodie district with restaurants like Garcia’s Seafood near the historic Scottish Rite. River enthusiasts can enjoy kayaking from Spring Garden Pointe Park and cruise towards East Little Havana and enjoy activities at Jose Martí Park and its aquatic facility. Further East, you can also explore new developments near restaurants like American Social or see a show at the James L Knight Center. The Miami River continues into Brickell, the heart of Miami’s financial district and ends with the historic Miami Circle at the mouth of the river and Biscayne Bay.
